Fan Clutch: Service and Repair

11 52 020 - Removing and installing or replacing fan clutch (N62)





Special tools required:
- 11 5 040 11 5 040 Open-Ended Spanner WAF 32
- 11 5 050 11 5 050 Holder





Caution!
Left-hand threads.

Using special tool 11 5 050 11 5 050 Holder brace against pulley and unfasten cap nut from water pump using special tool 11 5 040 11 5 040 Open-Ended Spanner WAF 32.

Remove fan wheel with fan coupling from water pump.





Installation:
Tighten down fan impeller using special tool 11 5 040 11 5 040 Open-Ended Spanner WAF 32.

Tightening torque 11 52 1AZ. 11 52 Fan

Note:
When using special tool 11 5 040 11 5 040 Open-Ended Spanner WAF 32, 30 Nm on the torque wrench scale are equivalent to a tightening torque of 40 Nm.





Release screws, detach fan from fan clutch.
