Removal and Replacement

CAUTION!
Note safety regulations for handling airbag modules an pyrotechnical seatbelt tensioners.
Incorrect handling can activate airbag and result in injury.

Remove and install front left or right door trim.






CAUTION!
Plug connector for side airbag (adapter lead) is not marked "Orange or Yellow"and is not designed as special airbag plug connector!


Take off locking clip.
Detach adapter lead with plug (1) from side airbag module.
Unfasten screws (2).
Remove airbag module (3).








To prevent damage to the plug connector on the airbag module, the following assembly sequence must be observed:
- Caution!
Always replace micro-encapsulated screws!
Screw down side airbag module
Tightening torque = 8.5 Nm
- Attach adapter lead to side airbag module,
- Mount retaining clip, replace damaged clip if necessary.
