Fluid Reservoir (Expansion Tank)







- Draw brake fluid out of the expansion tank with a suction bottle, which may only come into contact with brake fluid.
Do not reuse drawn out brake fluid.





- Carefully pull off suction hoses for hydraulic control unit from both tank connectors and also feed hose to clutch sensor.
- Hold ends of hoses up and plug to prevent fluid from running out.

NOTE: Suction hoses are installed on vehicles with ABS up to 09/94, and on vehicles with ASC+T up to 09/96.





- Disconnect expansion tank from brake master cylinder (tandem) by tilting to side.
- Plug connections on brake master cylinder for protection against dust and dirt.





- Coat sealing rings only with brake fluid.
Do not use ATE brake-cylinder paste.





- Press tank into plugs with connectors as far as stop so that they are precisely perpendicular.





- Carefully connect connecting hoses of hydraulic control unit and clutch to connectors of expansion tank (make sure hoses are not mixed up).





- Fill expansion tank with new brake fluid until level reaches MAX mark.
If necessary, bleed brakes. Service and Repair
Correct fluid level.
