Front Bumper: Service and Repair

REMOVING AND INSTALLING/DISASSEMBLING FRONT BUMPER

Survey of Bumper and Mounting Parts









Removal





- If applicable, unscrew covers for headlight spray nozzles.





- If applicable, unscrew screw.

- Lift out spray nozzle.

Installation:
Aim and bleed.





- Press down on tab of cover (1) with screwdriver (2).





- Pull off cover (1) forward.





Installation:
Check for correct seating of bars and tabs of cover (1) in the bumper.





- Unscrew bolts.

- Pull out bumper.





Installation:
Height of bumper can be adjusted by turning the socket head bolts.

- Disconnect plugs for front fog lamps and, if applicable, connection for headlIght cleaners.





Installation:
If applicable, mark position of bracket on bumper.

- Adjust distance "A" after replacing.





A = 23.5 to 24 mm (0.925 to 0.945")
B = Bumper upper edge
C = Center of slide

Note: Distance "A" is measured without the rubber seal.





Installation:
If applicable, mark position of bracket on body.
Adjust distance "A" after replacing.



A = 36.5 to 37 mm (1.437 to 1.457")
B = Side penal lower edge
C = Edge to middle of guide rail

Note: Distance "A" is measured without the rubber seal.

- Cut through wire strap.

- Open clamps.

- Pull off plug.

- Pull out temperature sensor (1).





- Unscrew bolts.

- Remove jets.





- Lift out the retainer.





- Unscrew bolts.

- Remove jets.

Installation:
Adjust (aim).
