Trouble Code 209 (Incorrect Fault Display)

INCORRECT FAULT DISPLAY
Explanation
The transmission fault lamp lights in the instrument cluster despite the transmission operating normally.

Possible Cause
The wire from the control unit Pin 29 to the instrument cluster has a break or a short to positive.

Troubleshooting
a) Perform component activation. Activate fault display. Ground must be applied at Pin 29. Trace signal to instrument cluster.

b) Connect universal adapter and check wires. During normal operation (not diagnostic mode) the following results should be observed:

- With ignition "ON" measure between: Pin 29 and 19-approx. battery voltage
- With engine "ON" measure between: Pin 29 and 19-approx. 0V
