Explanation: The potentiometer voltage (0.1 V to 4.5 V) drops below or exceeds the permissible voltage range.

Possible cause: The wire has a short or a break, potentiometer defective.

Troubleshooting:

1. Check wires from the control unit to potentiometer, repair if necessary.

2. If wires are OK., renew potentiometer.
