Ignition Lock: Service and Repair
Steering Column Switch Module and Electronic Ignition Lock Overview
• The steering column switch module consists of the coil connector with slip ring, steering angle sensor (G85) , steering column switch (turn signal indicator switch, wiper switch, cruise control switch) and steering column electronic systems control module (J527).
• Fault finding is done in "Guided Fault Finding" using the Vehicle diagnostic tester.

• 0.5 Nm

3 Steering Column Electronic Systems Control Module
• With the airbag spiral spring/return spring with slip ring (F138) , steering angle sensor.
• Removing and installing, refer to => [ Steering Column Electronic System Control Module (J527) ] Steering Column Electronic System Control Module (J527).
Risk of damaging coil connector.
• Coil connector with slip ring is not to be turned following removal.
• Connector assignment for the steering column electronic systems control module. Refer to => [ Steering Column Electronic Systems Control Module (J527) Connector Assignment ] [1][2]Diagrams.
4 Mount
• With the turn signal switch (E2) , windshield wiper/washer switch (E22).
• On vehicles with cruise control with cruise control switch (E45).
• Removing and installing, refer to => [ Turn Signal Switch (E2), Cruise Control (E45) and Windshield Wiper/Washer Switch (E22) ] Service and Repair.

8 Access/Start Authorization Switch (E415)

9 Divider
• For the access/start authorization switch.
• Removing and installing, refer to => [ Access/Start Authorization Switch (E415) ] Access/Start Authorization Switch (E415).
10 Ignition Key
Access/Start Authorization Switch Bolt Tightening Specification
- Tighten the bolt - 2 - for the access/start authorization switch - item 1 - to 3 Nm.
