12 V Socket (U5) Illumination Bulb (L42)

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

• Release tool (T40148)

Removing






- Remove the center console.

- Unclip the wire - arrow - from the bracket.

• The release tabs - 2 - on the (T40148) must engage in the openings in the 12 V socket - item 3 - - arrow - and the threaded pin - 1 - must slide down as far as the stop.






- Open the 12 V socket cover - 1 - and hold it in this position.






- Slide the (T40148) into the 12 V power outlet as far as the stop.

- Rotate the thumbwheel - 2 - on the (T40148) clockwise as far as the stop.

• The piston - 2 - is pulled upward and the release tabs - 1 - on the (T40148) spread - arrows -.






- Remove the 12 V power outlet from the lighting ring with the outlet illumination (L42) using the (T40148).

- Disconnect the electrical connector.

- Release the clips in the - direction of the arrow -.






- Remove the illumination ring - 1 - with the outlet illumination (L42) from the center console storage compartment - 2 -.

Installing






Install in reverse order of removal, observing the following:

- Remove the support - 1 - on the (T40148).

- Slide the piston down and hold it in place.

- Rotate the thumbwheel - 4 - on the (T40148) counterclockwise - arrow -. The release tabs - 2 - on the 12 V power outlet - 3 - will loosen and the (T40148) can be removed.

- Install the center console.
