Guide Rail, Variable Convertible Top Compartment Enclosure

Removing






- Open the convertible top until the displayed position of the top and the convertible top compartment cover is reached.

- Support the convertible top with a suitable wood stick.

- Pull the front spring motor - 2 - on the variable convertible top compartment in the left and right guide rail - 1 - all the way up.






- Release the hooks on the left and right guide rail using a small screwdriver - arrow -.

- Pull the front spring motor - 2 - on the variable convertible top compartment enclosure in the guide rail - 1 - up to the second stop.






- Insert a 1-mm diameter pin (e.g., a paper clip) - 3 - into the left and right holes in the spring motor.

If the spring motor is not locked, the spring is released and axle turns 24 times.

A spring motor which is unwound, can be tightened by turning the axle 24 times clockwise, as seen from the left.

- Release the hooks on the left and right guide rails with a small screwdriver - arrow - and pull the spring motor to the upper edge of the guide rail (do not disengage).

- Repeat the procedure on the opposite side of the vehicle.

- Disengage the front variable convertible top compartment enclosure from the left and right guide rails and lay it down.

- Remove the fleece - 1 - on the guide rails.






- Remove the screws - 2, 3, 5 and 6 - and remove the guide rail - 4 -.

Installing

Installation is reverse of removal, but note the following:

- Make sure the centering pins on the guide rails fit into the holes on the rollover protection.
