Rear Driveshaft
• General repair notes. Refer to => [ General Repair Information ] Rear Final Drive 0AQ (0ATA,08DA,09DA,0BQA Transmission).
• Driveshaft CV joints may only be moved without force and only as far as their stops, which is a 10° angle.
• Do not flex rear driveshaft; store only extended with center bearing bracket facing upwards.
• Repair work must not be performed on the driveshaft.
• If driveshaft is removed only from transfer case or from rear final drive, the driveshaft must be tied up to the body or supported.
• Before removing driveshaft, mark position of CV joint to final drive flange. Re-install in the same position otherwise imbalance will be excessive, the bearings could be damaged causing rumbling noises.
• If droning noises occur when driving, remove rear driveshaft from rear final drive, rotate one hole relative to flange and attach again.
• If droning sounds can still be heard, the rear driveshaft can be rotated from rear final drive and rotated back in offset by one hole a total of 5 times.
