Engine, Securing to Engine and Transmission Holder

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

Engine Sling (2024 A)

Engine and Transmission Holder (VAS 6095) and Universal Mount (VAS 6095/1) and Bracket for V6 FSI Engine, Audi A6 (VAS 6095/1-5)

Shop Crane -Load Cap=700-1200KG (VAS 6100)

Lift Arm Ext./Workshop Hoist (VAS 6101)

Scissor-Type Assembly Platform (VAS 6131 A)

Joint Support (VAS 6131/13-7)

Procedure

The engine/transmission subassembly is removed and separated on the (VAS 6131 A) => [ Engine and Transmission, Separating ] Engine and Transmission, Separating.

Engine secured with (VAS 6131/13-7).

- Remove the bolts - arrows - from the left engine mount.






Ignore - 1 -.








Risk of accident!

The engine may be transported only in the manner described and without the transmission.

Engine separated from transmission. Refer to => [ Engine and Transmission, Separating ] Engine and Transmission, Separating.

- Attach the (2024 A) to the engine lifting eyes and to the (VAS 6100) using the (VAS 6101) as illustrated.

To be aligned to the center of gravity of the engine assembly, the hole rails of the lifting hook must be inserted as shown in the illustration.

There is the risk of an accident.

Lifting hooks and alignment pins on lifting tackle must be secured with securing pins - arrows -.

- Remove joint support (VAS 6131/13-7) from engine - arrow -.






- Raise engine from engine carrier.

- Remove the bolts - arrows - and remove the right - 1 - and left engine supports.






- Secure the engine to the (VAS 6095/1) and (VAS 6095/1-5) on the (VAS 6095) to 40 Nm, as illustrated.
