Axle Oil Level, Checking

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

• Oil Collecting and Extracting Device (V.A.G 1782)

• Observe general repair notes, refer to => [ Repair Information ] Transfer Case 0BU, Front Final Drive 0BM, 0C1 and 0BN, Rear Final Drive 0B (0C8A,0BNH,0BPH,0BMV,0C1V Transmission).

• The vehicle must be perfectly horizontal when checking the fluid level.

Procedure

- Remove the screws and the front noise insulation - 1 -.






- Set the (V.A.G 1782) underneath the front final drive.

- Remove the plug - arrow - for checking the transmission fluid.






• Specified value: Fluid level up to the lower edge of the oil fill hole.

- If necessary, top off the gear oil; specification, refer to the Parts Catalog.

- Install the bolt - arrow - along with a new seal.
