Diesel MFI Pump Drive Belt: Service and Repair






High Pressure Pump Toothed Belt Overview






1 Front Toothed Belt Guard

Install it at the bottom and clip it securely on the sides

2 Nut

70 Nm

3 Bolt

23 Nm

4 High Pressure Pump Toothed Belt Sprocket

Remove with the puller (T40064).

5 Idler Roller

6 High Pressure Pump Toothed Belt

Before removing, mark direction of rotation using chalk or felt-tip marker. A reversed turning direction can cause damage to the used toothed belt.

Check for wear

Perform the following points before installing the toothed belt:

Align the crankshaft Top Dead Center (TDC).

Stop the high pressure pump toothed belt using the locking tool (T40135). (Do not allow the toothed belt to swing!).

7 Bolt

9 Nm

8 Rear Toothed Belt Guard

9 Toothed Belt Tensioning Roller

10 Toothed Belt Drive Sprocket

Loosen and tighten the central bolt with the retainer (3036).

Remove with the puller (T10320).

11 Bolt

75 Nm

Use (3036) to loosen and tighten

12 Bolt

23 Nm

TDC in the Crankshaft - 1 -





TDC in the Camshaft - arrow -





Locking Tool (T40135) for the High Pressure Pump Toothed Belt.





Removing the High Pressure Pump Toothed Belt Sprocket





- Remove the high pressure pump toothed belt with the puller (T40064).

Loosen the Toothed Belt Drive Wheel Center Bolt and then Tighten it





- Loosen and tighten the center bolt - 1 - with the retainer (3036).

Remove the Toothed Belt Drive Wheel





- Remove the toothed belt drive wheel with the puller (T10320).
