Right and Left Rear Vent Temperature Sensors (G405) and (G406)







Right and Left Rear Vent Temperature Sensors (G405) and (G406)

- Switch off ignition.

- Remove left side wall trim in luggage compartment..

- Remove insulation on rear heating & A/C unit

- Mark connectors to the vent temperature sensors - B - and - C - (risk of interchange).






- Rotate the desired vent temperature sensor (Right Rear Vent Temperature Sensor - A - or Left Rear Vent Temperature Sensor - D -) approximately 90° in direction of arrow.



- Remove the desired vent temperature sensor from air channel.

Installing

- Check O-ring seal - E - for damage and proper fitting.

- Insert vent temperature sensor into air channel mount - F -.

An O-ring seal - E - is installed so that vent temperature sensor fits without play in mount - F -.

- Connect connectors - B - and - C - (pay attention to correct assignment).

- Install the remaining removed components again in reverse order.

- Check DTC memory of Climatronic Control Module (J255) (and of Rear A/C Display Control Head (E265) ) and erase any DTCs displayed using Vehicle Diagnosis, Testing and Information System VAS5051 in the "Guided Fault Finding" function.
