Wheel Housing Trim

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required
• Trim Removal Wedge (3409)
Removing
Follow all safety precautions when working on pyrotechnic components.
Vehicles with fixed second row
- Remove corresponding second row seat.
• Seat beach (two-thirds bench), refer to => [ 2nd Row, 3-Seater Assembly Overview ] 2nd Row, 3-Seater Assembly Overview.
• Individual seat, refer to => [ 2nd Row, 2-Seater Assembly Overview ] 2nd Row, 2-Seater Assembly Overview.
Vehicles with longitudinally adjustable second row
- Move second row seat forward on side to be removed.
Procedure for all vehicles
- Pull wheel housing trim out of mounts in body with (3409).
- Remove belt anchor/seat belt screw - 1 - on body.
- Remove wheel housing trim - 2 - and pull seat belt - 3 - through opening - arrow A - in trim.
Installing
Install in reverse order of removal. Note the following:
Follow all safety precautions when working on pyrotechnic components.
• If trim clamps remain in body mounting points, remove these and insert them in trim.
• Check clamps for damage or deformation, replace if necessary.
- Guide seat belt - 3 - through opening - arrow A - in wheel housing trim - 2 -.
- Secure the belt anchor/seat belt with screw - 1 - to the body. Anchor depression - arrow B - must rest on the anti-twist mechanism - arrow C -.
- Insert the wheel housing trim with mounts - 1 - in luggage compartment side trim - 2 -.
- Clip the wheel housing trim with clamps - 3 - to the C-pillar while inserting the tab - arrow A - in the recess - arrow B - of the C-pillar trim.
- Draw door seal lip - 4 - over wheel housing liner.
