Accumulator: Service and Repair
Hydraulic Pulse Memory with Accumulator Solenoid (N485)
• Not all transmissions have a hydraulic pulse memory.
• General repair instructions, refer to => [ Repair Information ] Repair Information.
• Clean working conditions for the automatic transmission. Refer to => [ Clean Working Conditions ] Clean Working Conditions.
Removing
• Transmission installed.
There is a risk of damaging the transmission.
• Do not start the engine if there is no ATF in the transmission and if the Mechatronic is removed.
- Transmission in "P".
- Turn off the ignition and remove the key.
- Remove the ATF oil pan. Refer to => [ Automatic Transmission Fluid Oil Pan ] Service and Repair.
- Remove the ATF filter. Refer to => [ ATF Filter ] Service and Repair.
There is a risk of destroying the transmission control module (Mechatronic) with electrostatic discharge.
• Always "discharge" the static electricity. Do this by touching a grounded object, for example vehicle ground, the vehicle or the hoist.
• Do not touch contacts in transmission connector with hands.
- Disconnect the connector - B - for the hydraulic pulse memory - A - carefully.
- Remove the bolts in the following sequence: - 3 to 1 -.
- Remove the hydraulic pulse memory - A -.
Installing
• For the correct tightening specifications, refer to => [ ATF Pan, ATF Screen, Mechatronic and Hydraulic Pulse Memory with Accumulator Solenoid (N485) Overview ] Description and Operation.
• Replace the O-ring and the bolts from the hydraulic pulse memory.
- Install the hydraulic pulse memory - A - with a new O-ring - D -.
- Tighten the bolt in the following sequence: - 1 to 3 -.
- Disconnect the connector - B - for the hydraulic pulse memory - A - carefully.
• Make sure the connector locks and is secure.
- Route the wire - C - according to the illustration and secure it - arrows -.
- Install the ATF filter. Refer to => [ ATF Filter ] Service and Repair.
- Install the ATF pan. Refer to => [ Automatic Transmission Fluid Oil Pan ] Service and Repair.
- Fill the ATF. Refer to => [ ATF, Checking Level and Correcting ] ATF, Checking Level and Correcting.
