High-Mounted Brake Lamp Bulb






High-Mounted Brake Lamp Bulb

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

Trim Removal Wedge (3409)

Cleaning solution (D 009 401 04)

Removal






- Remove the rear lid trim panel to the side.

- Release the retainer in - direction of arrow A - and disconnect the connector - 2 -.

- Remove the nut - 1 - - arrows -.

- Pry the bolt - 3 - on the outer side out of the clips nuts - 4 - using the (3409).






- Remove the high-mounted brake lamp - 1 - from the rear lid - arrows - and guide the electric wire - 2 - through the opening in the body.

Installation






Install in reverse order of removal. Note the following:

Entire high-mounted brake light must be replaced in the event of faulty LEDs.

- Check the seal - 2 - between the high-mounted brake lamp - 1 - and the rear lid for damage.

- Install the high-mounted brake lamp into the rear lid.






- Tighten bolts, refer to => [ Tightening Specification and Sequence: High-Mounted Brake Lamp Bulb ] High-Mount Brake and License Plate Lamps Overview.

- Connect the connectors.

- Push the rubber lip under the rear window using the (3409).

- Install the rear lid trim panel.
