Sill Panel Cover

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

• Trim removal wedge (3409)






• Hot air gun (V.A.G 1416)






• Cleaning solution (D 009 401 04)

Removing






- Loosen the rear underbody cover. Refer to => [ Rear Vehicle Underbody Cover ] Rear Vehicle Underbody Cover.

- Warm the sill panel trim - 1 - near the C-pillar - 2 - carefully with hot air gun (V.A.G 1416).

- Pry off the sill panel trim with trim removal wedge (3409) - arrow A -.

- Open the quick release - 3 -.

- Lift the sill panel trim slightly and remove it toward the outside - arrow B -.

- Pull the sill panel trim - 1 - off the front bracket - arrow A - and and then the rear bracket - 2 - - arrow B -.






- Remove the sill panel trim and lay it on a soft surface.

Installing






Installation is reverse of removal, but note the following:

- Clean the adhesive surfaces with cleaning solution (D 009 401 04).

- Remove the protective film from the adhesive tape - 2 -.

- Position the sill panel trim - 1 - on the C-pillar and then press on it until it clicks into place in the brackets.

- Install the lower underbody cover. Refer to => [ Rear Vehicle Underbody Cover ] Rear Vehicle Underbody Cover.
