Roof Trim Molding

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

• Drill

• 3 mm drill bit

Removing






- Open the front and rear doors.

- Remove the door seal near the roof trim molding. Refer to => [ Door Seals ] Door Seals.

- Remove the seal - 1 and 4 - from the roof trim molding as far as the B-pillar trim- 5 -.

- Have a second technician hold the roof trim molding - 2 - to keep it from damaging the paint.

- Drill out the rivet head - 3 - and strike the rivet shaft.

• Do not bend the roof trim molding.

• The roof trim molding has an opening near the B-pillar trim.

- Pull the roof trim molding - 1 - out of the clips - 2 - in the side window in - direction of arrow -.






- Remove the roof trim molding.

Installing






Installation is reverse of removal, but note the following:

- Install the roof trim molding - A - into the side window trim molding - E -.

• The clamp - C - must fit correctly into the guide - D -.

• The roof trim molding be touching the end of the side window trim molding.

- Rivet the roof trim molding with the rivet - B - in the following sequence: - 1 through 12 -.

- Insert the seal - 2 - in the B-pillar trim - 1 - starting in the roof trim molding - 3 -.






• The seal must click into the groove - arrow - and be flush with the roof trim molding.
