Front and Rear Sill Panel Strip

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

• Trim removal wedge (3409)






• Hot air gun (V.A.G 1416)






• Cleaning solution (D 009 401 04)

Removing






Vehicles with fiber optic cable for ambient lighting:

- Remove front sill panel trim.

- Remove the inner door seal. Refer to => [ Door Seals ] Door Seals.

- Disconnect electrical connectors.

All vehicles:

- Carefully warm the sill panel strip - 1 - with the hot air gun (V.A.G 1416).

- Carefully pry off the sill panel strip - 2 - using the trim removal wedge (3409) - arrow -.

Installing






Installation is reverse of removal, but note the following:

- Clean the adhesive surfaces with cleaning solution (D 009 401 04).

- Remove the protective film from the adhesive tape - 3 -.

- Position the sill panel strip - 2 - on the sill panel - 1 - and push the securing tabs into the mounts - arrows -.

- Press the sill panel strip onto the the sill panel strip over the entire length.

• Resting time approximately 2 hours at room temperature

- Vehicles with fiber optic cable for ambient lighting: install the inner door seal and the front sill panel strip.
