Radiator and Coolant Fan Overview
Radiator and Coolant Fan Overview
Risk of scalding due to hot steam and hot coolant.
• The coolant system is under pressure when the engine is warm.
• Reduce pressure by covering coolant reservoir cap with a cloth and carefully opening.
Danger of personal injury due to the coolant fan turning on by itself.
• Disconnect the connectors before working near the fan shroud.
• Secure all hose connections using hose clamps appropriate for the model. Refer to the Parts Catalog.
• The hose clip pliers (V.A.G 1921) or hose clip pliers (VAS 6340) are recommended for installing spring clamps.
• Always replace gaskets and seals.
• The arrows on the coolant pipes and ends of coolant hoses must align.
