Rear Side Airbag Crash Sensor







Rear Side Airbag Crash Sensor


Follow the safety precautions for pyrotechnic components.





1 Bolt

7 Nm

2 Rear Side Airbag (Side Curtain Airbag) Crash Sensor

Driver side: Rear Side Airbag Crash Sensor (on Driver side) (G256)

Front passenger side: Rear Side Airbag Crash Sensor (on front Passenger side) (G257)

Removing

- Disconnect the battery ground wire with the ignition off.

Without Side Airbag:

- Remove lower C-pillar trim. Refer to => [ Lower C-Pillar Trim, Vehicles without Side Airbag ] Lower C-Pillar Trim, Vehicles without Side Airbag.

With Side Airbag:

- Remove rear side airbag.

All:

- Disconnect electrical connector on crash sensor.

- Remove bolts - 2 - (quantity: 2).

- Remove rear side curtain airbag crash sensor.

Installation

To install, perform the steps used in removal in reverse order. Note the following:

Without Side Airbag:

- Install lower C-pillar trim. Refer to => [ Lower C-Pillar Trim, Vehicles without Side Airbag ] Lower C-Pillar Trim, Vehicles without Side Airbag.

With Side Airbag:

- Install rear side airbag.


Connect the battery with the ignition switched on. Pyrotechnic components could deploy after connecting the battery if they were not repaired correctly. Individuals must not be inside the vehicle when connecting the battery.

- Disconnect the battery ground wire with the ignition switched on.

If Airbag Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL) (K75) indicates a fault after installation, DTC memory must be checked, deleted and checked again.
