• The sunroof crossmember is removed.
Sun shade is pre-tensioned by a spring and must be secured against unwinding before removing.
• Remove the adjusting clip from the axle before removing.
• To remove, slide sunroof shade to the side in direction of - arrow -.
• The sunroof shade can only be inserted into the side that has the clip, which must be removed beforehand.
• Secure axle from unwinding using a piece of wire and lift out sunroof shade on one side.
• Remove sunroof shade with sliders set off to the side and out of the guides.
• For the front sunroof shade, roller must be slid in opposite direction of arrow.

Secure the Sunroof Shade Using an Anti-Twist Mechanism
Sunroof shade is pre-tensioned by a spring and must be secured against unwinding before removing.
- Align the hole, which is located in the axle and in the shaft, by sliding it sideways after removing the clip.
- Disconnect the axle and shaft - 3 - using a thin piece of wire - 4 - and secure it so that sunroof shade does not unwind.
- Now you can remove the sunroof shade from its roof module.
- If glide pieces - 1 - remain in guides, they must be removed and reinserted again before installing sunroof shade - 2 -.
Remove the Front Sunroof Shade
- Headliner lowered.
- Crossmember for the sunroof motor removed.
- Push the adjusting clip - 1 - with the pin for securing the spring through hose in the axle - 2 - in direction of - arrow -.
Be careful not to damage the paint in any visible areas when unlocking the guide. Use adhesive tape in this area.
- Use a screwdriver to release the guide - 2 - on both sides in direction of - arrow - from the sunshade arch - 1 -.
- Remove the sun shade arch - 1 - from the guide - 2 - in direction of - arrow -.
Remove the sunshade rail - 1 - from the guide in the direction of the - arrow - - 2 -.
- Remove the clip - 1 - from the axle opposite direction of - arrow -.
- Install the shade - arrow A - and align both holes - arrow B - in the axle and in the shaft.
- Secure the shade from rotating with a wire pin as illustrated and remove the shade.
Install the Front Sunroof Shade
- Insert the flat axle - arrow - on the shade into the roof.
- Insert the other end in to the mount on the opposite side.
- Install the clip on the axle with pliers after installing the shade.
- The illustration show the clip in the correct position.
• It is now not possible to slide the shade - 2 - from side to side.
- Install the sun shade arch as shown - arrow - on the guide.
- Screw the sun shade arch onto the guide in direction of - arrow -.
- When installing - A arrow -, the sun shade arch - 1 - must fit completely into the guide - 2 - and lock - B arrow -.
Remove the Guide
- Slide the guide to the rear and remove it from the guides after removing the sun shade arch.
• The illustration shows the guide from inside the vehicle.
Remove the Rear Sunroof Shade
- Headliner lowered.
- Crossmember for the sunroof motor removed.
- Push the adjusting clip - 1 - with the pin for securing the spring through hose in the axle in direction of - arrow -.
- Remove the sun shade arch from the guides on the sunroof as illustrated.
- Install the shade - arrow A - and align both holes - arrow B - in the axle and in the shaft.
- Secure the shade from rotating with a wire pin as illustrated and remove the shade.
Install the Rear Sunroof Shade
- To install, perform the steps used in removal in reverse order.
- Install the clip on the axle with pliers after installing the sunroof shade.
- The illustration show the clip in the correct position.
• It is now not possible to slide the shade - 2 - from side to side.
Sunroof Crossmember

• The headliner is just lowered and not removed.
- To do this, remove the trim panels on the A- and B-pillars, the sun visors, the interior lighting, all of the grip handles and the rear roof panel trim.
• To remove, remove hex bolts - 2 -.
• Connecting parts at left - 3 - and right - 5 - remain in the vehicle.

3 Left Connecting Part
4 Hex Head Bolt
• 3.5 Nm
5 Right Connecting Part
6 Headliner
• Lower but do not remove.
