Ribbed Belt, Vehicles with Hydraulic Power Steering

Removing






- Remove the Air Conditioning (A/C) compressor ribbed belt. Refer to => [ Supercharger Ribbed Belt ] Supercharger Ribbed Belt.

- Remove the bolt - arrow - and remove the idler roller.








Risk of destroying due to reversed running direction on a used ribbed belt.

For installing the ribbed belt again, mark the running direction with chalk or a felt tip pen.

- Pivot the tensioner clockwise - arrow - to release the tension on the ribbed belt.

- Remove the ribbed belt and release the tension on the tensioning element.

Installing






Install in reverse order of removal. Note the following:

Tightening specification, refer to => [ Ribbed Belt Drive, Vehicles with Hydraulic Power Steering Overview ] Ribbed Belt Drive, Vehicles With Hydraulic Power Steering Overview.

- Place the ribbed belt over the pulley as illustrated.

1. Generator

2. Idler roller

3. Coolant pump

4. Power steering pump

5. A/C Compressor

6. Ribbed belt tensioning damper

7. Vibration damper


When installing the ribbed belt, make sure it is seated correctly on the pulleys.

- Start the engine and check the belt routing.

- Install the compressor ribbed belt. Refer to => [ Supercharger Ribbed Belt ] Supercharger Ribbed Belt.
