Right Front Seat Ventilation Control Module

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

Trim removal wedge (3409)

Removing


Follow the safety precautions for pyrotechnic components. Refer to => [ Restraint System Components ] Description and Operation.

Before handling pyrotechnical components (for example, disconnecting the connector), the person handling them must "discharge static electricity". For example, by briefly touching the door striker pin.

- Switch the ignition on.

- Disconnect the battery ground cable with the ignition switched on.

- Remove front seat. Refer to => [ Power Standard Front Seats ] Power Standard Front Seats.

- Attach front seat to Fixture For Seat Repair (VAS 6136). Refer to => [ Front Seat, Installing on Fixture for Seat Repair VAS 6136 ] Front Seat, Installing on Fixture for Seat Repair VAS 6136.

- Disconnect the connector - 2 - right front seat ventilation control module (J799)/ (J800) - item 1 - by pressing the release - arrow -.





- Release the retaining strap - arrow 1 - using the trim removal wedge (3409).





- Remove the control module from the bracket - arrow 2 -.

- Release the tab on the control module - arrow 3 - on the mount.

- Remove the control module.

Installation


Follow the safety precautions for pyrotechnic components. Refer to => [ Restraint System Components ] Description and Operation.

Before handling pyrotechnical components (for example, connecting electrical connector), the person handling them must "discharge static electricity". For example, by briefly touching the door striker pin.

Installation is reverse of removal, but note the following:

Make sure the control module audibly engages into the bracket.

Ensure that electrical connections are pushed in as far as stop and engage with a click.


Connect the battery with the ignition switched on. Pyrotechnic components could deploy after connecting the battery if they were not repaired correctly. Individuals must not be inside the vehicle when connecting the battery.

- Disconnect the battery ground wire with the ignition switched on.

If Airbag Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL) (K75) indicates a fault after installation, DTC memory must be checked, deleted and checked again.
