Strut Mount: Service and Repair

Mounting Bracket, with Coil Spring Suspension

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

• Tensioner hooks (VW 552)

• Tensioning strap (T10038)

Removing

- Suspension strut (coil spring), removing, refer to => [ Coil Spring Suspension Strut ] Coil Spring Suspension Strut.

- Support lower control arm with (VW 552) and (T10038).






- Install (V.A.G 1383 A) with (T10149).






- Remove bolts - 1 - to - 3 - and mounting bracket.






Installing

Installation is the reverse of removal, with special attention to the following:

Tightening specifications, refer to => [ Coil Spring Suspension Strut, Upper Control Arm, Mounting Bracket and Level Control System Sensor Assembly Overview ] .

- Suspension strut, installing, refer to => [ Coil Spring Suspension Strut ] Coil Spring Suspension Strut.

- Install plenum chamber cover.
