Catalytic Converters and Particulate Filter






1 Bolt

• 23 Nm

2 Suspended Mount

• Replace if damaged

• Check pretension, refer to => [ Exhaust System, Installing ] Exhaust System, Installing

3 SCR - Catalytic Converter

• Removing and installing, refer to => [ SCR Catalytic Converter ] SCR Catalytic Converter

4 Clamp

5 Gasket

• Replace

6 Reducing Agent Injector (N474)

• Removing and installing, refer to => [ Reducing Agent Injector (N474) ] Reducing Agent Injector (N474)

7 Bolt

• Tightening specifications => [ (Item 1) Bolt ] Description and Operation

8 Gasket

• Replace

9 Gasket

• Replace

10 Bolt

• 23 Nm

11 Bracket

• For the preliminary catalytic converter

12 Nut

• Replace

• 23 Nm

• Coat with hot bolt paste; Hot bolt paste, refer to the Parts Catalog

13 Gasket

• Replace

14 Turbocharger

15 Primary Catalytic Converter

• With flex joint

• Do not bend the decoupling element more than 10° or it will be damaged.

• Protect from shocks and impact stress

• Removing and installing, refer to => [ Primary Catalytic Converter ] Primary Catalytic Converter

• Install exhaust system free of stress, refer to => [ Exhaust System, Installing ] Exhaust System, Installing

16 Bolt

• 23 Nm

17 Nut

• Replace

• 23 Nm

• Coat with hot bolt paste; Hot bolt paste, refer to the Parts Catalog

18 Particulate Filter

• With catalytic converter

• With the exhaust pressure sensor 1 (G450) pressure line - item 15 - => [ (Item 15) Pressure Line for the ] Exhaust Temperature Control Overview

• Removing and installing, refer to => [ Particulate Filter ] Particulate Filter

• After replacing, perform "Adaptation" in "Guided Functions" vehicle diagnostic tester

19 Suspended Mount

• Replace if damaged

20 Bolt

• 23 Nm

21 Suspended Mount

• Replace if damaged

22 Bolt

• 23 Nm

23 Nut

• 23 Nm

• Replace

• Coat with hot bolt paste; Hot bolt paste, refer to the Parts Catalog

24 Suspended Mount

• Replace if damaged

25 Bolt

• 23 Nm

26 Nut

• 23 Nm

27 Clamping Sleeve

• Before tightening, align exhaust system tension-free, refer to => [ Exhaust System, Installing ] Exhaust System, Installing

• Tighten threaded connections evenly.

Rear Muffler and Tail Pipes






1 Exhaust Tailpipe

• Removing and installing, refer to => [ Tailpipes ] Tailpipes

2 Bolt

• 60 Nm

3 Suspended Mount

• Replace if damaged

4 Bolt

• 23 Nm

5 Rear Muffler

• Different versions for emissions standard EU 6 and BIN 5; allocation, refer to the Parts Catalog

• Install exhaust system free of stress => [ Exhaust System, Installing ] Exhaust System, Installing

6 Bolt

• 23 Nm

7 Suspended Mount

• Replace if damaged

8 Suspended Mount

• Replace if damaged

9 Bolt

• 23 Nm

10 Exhaust Tailpipe

• Removing and installing, refer to => [ Tailpipes ] Tailpipes

11 Bolt

• 60 Nm
