Instrument Cluster
• Do not disassemble instrument cluster.
• It is not necessary to remove the steering wheel in order to remove the instrument cluster.
• All warning lamps in instrument cluster are fitted with light-emitting diodes (LED). Replace the instrument cluster if an indicator lamp fails.
Removing
- If the instrument cluster with the instrument cluster control module (J285) was replaced, select the"Replace" function for the corresponding control module in the "Guided Fault Finding" or "Guided Functions" operating mode using the Vehicle Diagnostic Tester.
- Select the function or path:
- Follow the instructions on the Vehicle Diagnostic Tester display.
- Adjust steering wheel downward and to rear as far as possible, use entire adjustment range of steering column adjustment for this.
- Switch off ignition and remove ignition key.
- Remove gap cover.
- Place gap cover on upper steering column trim.
- Remove the bolts - arrows -.
- Pull instrument cluster - 1 - out until it lies on steering wheel.
- Disconnect the electrical connector.
- To disconnect electrical connector, press catch - 1 -, turn retaining bracket in the direction of the - arrow - and remove connector.
- Remove instrument cluster to driver's side between steering wheel and instrument cluster.
Installing
Observe notes on contact corrosion. Refer to => [ Contact Corrosion ] Service Precautions.
• Tightening specification. Refer to => [ Instrument Cluster Clock Receiver Overview ] Instrument Cluster Clock Receiver Overview.
Install in reverse order of removal, observing the following:
- Follow the instructions on the Vehicle Diagnostic Tester display with a new instrument cluster.
