Selector Mechanism, Performing Emergency Release

• It is not possible to move the selector lever out of the "P" position if the battery is disconnected or if it is discharged.

• The shift lock solenoid (N110) will cancel out the lock when the emergency release is activated.

Vehicles with a Ashtray





- Remove the front ashtray insert.

- Pry off the cap inside the ashtray housing - arrow -.

Vehicles without an Ashtray





- Carefully remove the storage compartment trim - 1 - upward.

• Lift the trim just far enough until the opening - arrow - for the emergency release lever is accessible.

• Ignore - 2 and 3 -.

Continuation for All Vehicles





- Push the emergency release lever - arrow -, for example, with a screwdriver, and at the same time move the selector lever out of the "P" position.

• The screwdriver will be guided through the funnel - 1 - to the emergency release lever.

Vehicles without an Ashtray





- Press the tabs - 2 - into the openings in the storage compartment - 3 - until they lock.
