Left Exhaust Manifold






Left Exhaust Manifold

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

Hose Clamps Up to 25 mm Dia. (3094)

Engine Bung Set (VAS 6122)

Removing

- Remove the left intermediate pipe. Refer to => [ Left Intermediate Pipe ] Left Intermediate Pipe.

Place a cloth underneath to soak up any escaping power steering fluid.

Vehicles Built through 05.10

- Disconnect the power steering pump hydraulic hose and the (3094).






- Loosen the hose clamp - 1 - and remove the power steering fluid hose.

Ignore - 2 -.

- Remove the banjo bolt - 1 - and bolt - 2 - and lay the power steering fluid line to the side.






Vehicles Built from 06.10

Place a cloth underneath to soak up any escaping power steering fluid.

- Clamp off the power steering pump hydraulic hose - 1 - with a (3094).






- Remove the bolts - 2 - and move the hydraulic line to the rear.

All Vehicles

- Seal the open lines and connections with clean plugs from the (VAS 6122).

- Remove nuts - arrows - and remove the exhaust manifold.






Installing

Install in reverse order of removal. Note the following:

For the correct tightening specifications, refer to => [ Exhaust Manifold Overview ] Exhaust Manifold Overview.

Replace the seals, O-rings and the self-locking nuts.

Secure all hose connections with hose clamps appropriate for the model, refer to the Parts Catalog.

- Install the power steering fluid line.

- Install the left intermediate pipe. Refer to => [ Left Intermediate Pipe ] Left Intermediate Pipe.
