Front Bumper

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

• Engine bung set (VAS 6122)

• Socket (T40078)

Removing






- Unscrew the screws - arrows - and pull back the wheel housing liner in the lower area.

- Remove the left front wheel spoiler. Refer to => [ Front Wheel Spoiler ] Front Wheel Spoiler






- Release the securing clamp - arrow - and remove washer fluid line - 1 - on connecting piece - 2 -.

- Seal the connecting piece of the washer fluid line with a clean plug from the (VAS 6122).

- Remove the bolts - arrows -.






- Remove the upper bumper covers. Refer to => [ Radiator Grille Cover ] Radiator Grille Cover.






- Unscrew screws - 1, 2, 3, 5 - and nuts - 6 - and - 7 -.

- Remove the bumper rear edge from the guide piece/fender - arrow -.

- Remove bumper - 4 - in a forward direction.

Installation






• Tightening specifications, refer to => [ Front Bumper Assembly Overview ] Front Bumper Assembly Overview, => [ Tightening Torques and Sequence for Upper Bumper ] Front Bumper Assembly Overview.

Install in reverse order of removal. Note the following:

- Use the markings - arrow - on the radiator grille for exact adjustment in the longitudinal direction.

- Tighten the screws in the sequence - 1-4 -.
