ATF Cooler and Pipes Cleaning

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

• Old oil collecting and extracting device (VAG 1782 )

• 18 mm diameter hose

• Compressed air gun, commercially available

• Safety glasses

Work Procedure

• Rules of cleanliness for working on transmissions. Refer to => [ Clean Working Conditions ] Clean Working Conditions.

- Before installing a replacement transmission, always blow into the Automatic Transmission Fluid (ATF) cooler and pipes with compressed air (max. 10 bar).

- Before installing a replacement transmission, always replace the auxiliary ATF filter.

• If extremely dirty ATF flows out when blowing with compressed air, the ATF cooler and pipes must also be flushed with clean ATF.
