ATF lines and ATF cooler, cleaning - 01J, Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT)

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

^ Old oil collecting and extracting device V.A.G 1782
^ Hose diameter approx. 18 mm
^ Compressed air gun, commercially available
^ Safety glasses

Work procedure

Note:
^ Rules of cleanliness for working on automatic transmissions.

- Before installing a replacement transmission, always blow into ATF cooler and ATF lines with compressed air (max. 10 bar).
- Before installing a replacement transmission, always replace auxiliary ATF filter.

Note:
^ If extremely dirty ATF flows out when blowing with compressed air, ATF cooler and ATF lines must also be flushed with clean ATF.
