Cigarette Lighter






Cigarette Lighter

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

Release Tool (T40148)

Removing





- The release tabs - 2 - on the release tool ( T40148) must engage in the openings in the cigarette lighter 12V outlet - 3 - - arrow - and the threaded pin - 1 - must slide down as far as the stop.

- Remove the lighter or blind cover - 1 - on the Cigarette Lighter (U1).





- Slide the Release Tool (T40148) into the Cigarette Lighter (U1) - item 2 - as far as the stop.

- Rotate the thumbwheel - 3 - on the Release Tool (T40148) clockwise as far as the stop.

The piston - 2 - is pulled upward and the release tabs - 1 - on the Release Tool (T40148) spread - arrows -.





- Remove the Cigarette Lighter (U1) and Cigarette Lighter Illumination (L28) using the Release Tool (T40148).

- Disconnect the electrical connector.

Installing

Install in reverse order of removal, observing the following:

CAUTION!
Risk of injury.

After removing the Release Tool (T40148), check to see if the lighter retaining tabs are bent.

If the retaining tabs are bend, bend them back so the lighter does not slide out.

- Remove the support - 1 - on the Release Tool (T40148).





- Slide the piston down and hold it in place.

- Rotate the thumbwheel - 4 - on the Release Tool (T40148) counterclockwise - arrow -. This loosens the release tabs - 2 - on the Cigarette Lighter (U1) - item 3 - so the Release Tool (T40148) can be removed.
