02XA Transmission

Manual Transmission, Checking Gear Oil Level

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

• Torque Wrench (V.A.G 1331)

• To check transmission oil level, vehicle must be level.

- Remove oil filler plug - arrow - to check transmission oil.





The oil level is correct when the transmission is filled up to the edge of the housing - arrow -.





- Top off transmission oil if necessary. Specification, refer to => [ Code, Transmission Allocation, Ratios and Capacities ] Code, Transmission Allocation, Ratios and Capacities.

- Install and tighten the oil fill plug.

When filling again, note the following:

- Remove oil fill plug - arrow -.





- Fill the transmission oil up to the edge of the housing - arrow -.





- Install the oil fill plug.

- Start engine, engage gear and allow transmission to turn for approximately 2 minutes.

- Turn off the engine and remove the oil fill plug.

Fill the transmission oil again up to the edge - arrow -.

- Install and tighten the oil fill plug.
