Readiness Code, Generating

Requirements
- The respective fuses of the Motronic fuel injection and ignition system must be OK
- Battery voltage must be at least 11.5 V.
- All electrical consumers such as, for example, lights and rear window defroster must be switched off.
- For vehicles with automatic transmission, selector lever must be in "P".
- If the vehicle is equipped with an air conditioning system, this must be switched off.
- The Ground (GND) connections between engine and body must be OK.
- There must not be any DTCs stored in DTC memory. Diagnostic Mode 03 - Read DTC Memory

Let vehicle cool off with the ignition switched off until the following conditions are met:
- Intake air temperature 10 to 50 degrees C Diagnostic Mode 01 - Read Current System Data , Diagnostic mode 1: Check measured values; PID 15: Intake air temperature
- Coolant temperature approx. intake air temperature (10 to 50 degrees C) Diagnostic Mode 01 - Read Current System Data , Diagnostic mode 1 Check measured values; PID 5, Coolant temperature.

Safety Precautions on Road Tests

Audi TT Coupe - If Test and Measuring Equipment Is Required During Road Test, Note the Following:
- Test and measuring instruments must be secured to rear seat and operated by a 2nd person from this location.

If test and measuring instruments are operated from the front passengers seat and the vehicle is involved in an accident, there is a possibility that the person sitting in this seat may receive serious injuries when the airbag is triggered.

Audi TT Roadster - If Test and Measuring Equipment Is Required During Road Test, Note the Following:
- Deactivate passenger-side airbag using key switch in glove compartment or via On Board Diagnostic (OBD).
- Activate passenger-side airbag after completing work.

Work Procedure
- Connect diagnostic tester. Diagnostic Tester, Connecting
- Start engine and let run at idle for at least 15 minutes.
- Perform a 15 minute road test in the highest gear or in the highest driving mode on a level driving surface.

The following operating conditions must be met during this road test:
- Engine speed approx. 1800 to 2200 RPM, Diagnostic Mode 01 - Read Current System Data Diagnostic mode 1: Check measured values; PID 12, Engine rotations per minute (RPM)
- Vehicle speed constant 90 km/h, Diagnostic Mode 01 - Read Current System Data Diagnostic Mode 01 - Read Current System Data, Diagnostic mode 1: Check measured values; PID 13, Vehicle speed
