Torque Converter Shaft Seal

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

• Extractor Lever (VW 681)

• Thrust Piece (3295)

Procedure

• Transmission secured to the assembly stand or placed on a flat surface, refer to => Automatic Transmission/Transaxle Automatic Transmission/Transaxle

- Insert Extractor Lever (VW 681) directly behind the sealing lip of the sealing ring, so that the contact ring which is behind it is not damaged.





- Pry out shaft seal using Extractor Lever (VW 681 ).

- Install contact ring.

- Coat outer circumference and sealing lips of sealing ring with ATF.





• Installation position: Open side of shaft seal faces transmission.

- Using Thrust Piece (3295), drive in torque converter shaft seal as far as thrust piece stop.
