Leaks
Leaks
Leaks according to the mass air flow sensor
• Effects:
Reduction of power
• Possible fault sources:
1 Connecting hose between the mass air flow sensor and turbocharger
2 Connecting hose to the crankcase ventilation
3 Connecting hose to the mechanical recirculating valve
Leaks after the turbocharger
• Effects:
Charge pressure too low
• Possible fault sources:
1 Connecting hoses and pipe between the turbocharger and charge air cooler
2 Hose between the charge air cooler and intake manifold
3 Air charge cooler
4 Charge Air Pressure Sensor ( G31) (inside the charge air cooler) seal
5 Seal between the throttle valve control module and intake manifold
6 Seal between the intake manifold and cylinder head
Leakage on the exhaust side
• Effects:
Charge pressure too low, if necessary, exhaust smell, traces of rust in the engine compartment
• Possible fault sources:
1 Connection turbocharger/exhaust manifold
2 Connection exhaust manifold/cylinder head
