Leaks

Leaks according to the mass air flow sensor

Effects:

Reduction of power

Possible fault sources:

1 Connecting hose between the mass air flow sensor and turbocharger
2 Connecting hose to the crankcase ventilation
3 Connecting hose to the mechanical recirculating valve

Leaks after the turbocharger

Effects:

Charge pressure too low

Possible fault sources:

1 Connecting hoses and pipe between the turbocharger and charge air cooler
2 Hose between the charge air cooler and intake manifold
3 Air charge cooler
4 Charge Air Pressure Sensor ( G31) (inside the charge air cooler) seal
5 Seal between the throttle valve control module and intake manifold
6 Seal between the intake manifold and cylinder head

Leakage on the exhaust side

Effects:

Charge pressure too low, if necessary, exhaust smell, traces of rust in the engine compartment

Possible fault sources:

1 Connection turbocharger/exhaust manifold
2 Connection exhaust manifold/cylinder head
