Lower Coolant Pipe

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

• Hose Clamp Pliers (V.A.G 1921)

Removing

- Drain coolant. Refer to => [ Cooling System, Draining and Filling ] Procedures.

- Remove intake manifold support by removing the bolts - arrows -.





- Free up the electrical wires on the lower coolant pipe.





- Disconnect coolant hoses - arrows - from the lower coolant pipe.

- Remove bolts - 1 - and - 2 - and remove the coolant pipe from the thermostat housing.

Installing

Installation is in reverse order of removal, note the following:

• Replace O-rings.

• Secure all hose connections using hose clamps appropriate for the model type.

- Fill with coolant => [ Filling ] Procedures.
