Stabilizer Bar, Track Control Arm, Tie Rod, Coupling Rod, Connecting Link, Trailing Arm and Level Control System Sensor Assembly Overview





1 Subframe

2 Stabilizer Bar

With vulcanized rubber mounts.

Note the different suspension versions. Refer to => [ PR Number Explanations ] Application and ID.

Removing and installing, refer to => [ Stabilizer Bar ] Stabilizer Bar.

3 Clamp

4 Bolt, 25 Nm

Tighten evenly on both sides.

5 Bolt, 65 Nm + 90° additional turn

Always replace.

6 Bolt, 80 Nm + 90° additional turn

Always replace.

Rest the vehicle on its wheels (standard level) before tightening.

7 Bolt, 4 Nm

8 Air Spring Damper

The boot must not have any pressure points. Correct them if necessary. Refer to => [ Air Spring Damper Boot, Correcting Pressure Points ] Air Spring Damper Boot, Correcting Pressure Points.

Note the different suspension versions. Refer to => [ PR Number Explanations ] Application and ID.

Removing and installing, refer to => [ Air Spring Damper ] Rear Suspension.

Disassembling and assembling, refer to => [ Air Spring Damper ] Air Spring Damper.

9 Track Control Arm

Removing and installing, refer to => [ Track Control Arm ] Track Control Arm.

10 Self Locking Nut

Always replace.

11 Bolt, 80 Nm + 90° additional turn

Always replace.

12 Self Locking Nut

Always replace.

13 Wire Channel

14 Eccentric Bolt

Adjust the camber after loosening. Refer to => [ Rear Camber, Adjusting ] Rear Camber, Adjusting.

Do not turn more than 90° right or left (that is smallest to largest possible adjustment).

15 Wheel Bearing Housing

Removing and installing, refer to => [ Wheel Bearing Housing ] Wheel Bearing Housing.

Bushing removing and installing, refer to => [ Wheel Bearing Housing Bushing ] Wheel Bearing Housing Bushing.

16 Eccentric Washer

Inner bore with tab.

17 Self Locking Nut, 95 Nm

Always replace.

Raise the wheel bearing housing before tightening, refer to => [ Wheel Bearing Housing, Raising to Control Position to Tighten Bolts ] Procedures, (except for vehicle alignment).

18 Self Locking Nut, 75 Nm + 45° additional turn

Always replace.

19 Washer

20 Connecting Link

Connects the tie rod with the wheel bearing housing and trailing arm.

Removing and installing, refer to => [ Connecting Link ] Connecting Link.

21 Self Locking Nut

Always replace.

22 Bolt, 80 Nm + 90° additional turn

Always replace.

Raise the wheel bearing housing before tightening. Refer to => [ Wheel Bearing Housing, Raising to Control Position to Tighten Bolts ] Procedures.

23 Trailing Arm

Removing and installing, refer to => [ Trailing Arm ] Trailing Arm.

24 Bracket

For the brake line.

25 Self Locking Nut, 50 Nm + 90° additional turn

Always replace.

Raise the wheel bearing housing before tightening. Refer to => [ Wheel Bearing Housing, Raising to Control Position to Tighten Bolts ] Procedures.

26 Self Locking Nut

Always replace.

27 Bolt, 80 Nm + 90° additional turn

Always replace.

Raise the wheel bearing housing before tightening. Refer to => [ Wheel Bearing Housing, Raising to Control Position to Tighten Bolts ] Procedures.

28 Bracket

For the brake line.

29 Bolt, Self Locking, 10 Nm

Always replace.

30 Bolt

Always replace.

31 Self Locking Nut, 80 Nm + 90° additional turn

Always replace.

Raise the wheel bearing housing before tightening. Refer to => [ Wheel Bearing Housing, Raising to Control Position to Tighten Bolts ] Procedures.

32 Bolt

Always replace.

33 Bolt, 80 Nm + 90° additional turn

Always replace.

Raise the wheel bearing housing before tightening. Refer to => [ Wheel Bearing Housing, Raising to Control Position to Tighten Bolts ] Procedures.

34 Coupling Rod

Connects the stabilizer bar to the trailing arm.

Removing and installing, refer to => [ Coupling Rod ] Coupling Rod.

35 Bolt, 10 Nm

36 Left Rear Vehicle Level Control System Sensor (G76) and Right Rear Vehicle Level Control System Sensor (G77)

Note that there are different versions with a "long" or "short" lever.

Only use the same version of the sensor. Do not install both versions together.

Only remove, install or replace as a complete unit. Refer to => [ Rear Level Control System Sensor ] Level Control System.

The sensor lever must face toward the inside.

37 Self Locking Nut, 10 Nm

Always replace.

38 Eccentric Bolt

Adjust the toe after loosening. Refer to => [ Rear Toe, Adjusting ] Rear Toe, Adjusting.

Do not turn more than 90° right or left (that is smallest to largest possible adjustment).

39 Tie Rod

Removing and installing, refer to => [ Tie Rod ] Tie Rod.

The tie rod must be replaced if it was loosened from the connecting link - item 20 -.

40 Eccentric Washer

Inner bore with tab.

41 Self Locking Nut, 95 Nm

Always replace.

Raise the wheel bearing housing before tightening, refer to => [ Wheel Bearing Housing, Raising to Control Position to Tighten Bolts ] Procedures, (except for vehicle alignment).
