2 Front clamping sleeve

• Before tightening, ensure exhaust system is tension-free => [ Exhaust System, Installing ] Exhaust System, Installing

• Installation position of bolt ends => [ Installed position of front double clamps ] Exhaust System Component Overview

• Fasten threaded fasteners uniformly, while pushing the center muffler exhaust pipe upward slightly

3 Center muffler

• Install exhaust system free of stress => [ Exhaust System, Installing ] Exhaust System, Installing

4 Retaining loop

• Check pretension, see aligning exhaust system free of stress => [ Exhaust System, Installing ] Exhaust System, Installing

5 23 Nm

6 Bolt

7 Rear muffler

• For left side of vehicle

• With exhaust flap

• Original equipment as one unit with center muffler. For repairs, replace each separately.

• Separating point => [ Separate exhaust pipes at a right angle
at separating point using. ] Center Muffler and Rear Muffler, Separating

• With shield, depending on version

• When replacing a single rear muffler, remove the shield from the opposite rear muffler => [ Shield on rear muffler ]

• Install exhaust system free of stress => [ Exhaust System, Installing ] Exhaust System, Installing

• Exhaust flap, checking => [ Exhaust Flaps, Checking ] Testing and Inspection

8 Retaining loop

• Check pretension => [ Exhaust System, Installing ] Exhaust System, Installing

9 Suspended mount

10 22 Nm

11 Vacuum hose

• For exhaust flap

• From exhaust flap valve

12 23 Nm

• Replace

13 Rear muffler

• For right side of vehicle

• With exhaust flap

• Original equipment as one unit with center muffler. For repairs, replace each separately.

• With shield, depending on version

• When replacing a single rear muffler, remove shield from the opposite rear muffler => [ Shield on rear muffler ]

• Exhaust flap, checking => [ Exhaust Flaps, Checking ] Testing and Inspection

14 Rear clamping sleeve

• For individual replacement of center and rear mufflers

• Before tightening, align exhaust system tension-free => [ Exhaust System, Installing ] Exhaust System, Installing

• Installed location => [ Installed position of rear double clamps ]

• Tighten threaded connections evenly.

16 Clamping piece

Installed position of rear double clamps





- Install double clamps so that the bolt ends do not project over lower edge of double clamp.

• Threaded connections face each other.

Shield on rear muffler





Depending on version, rear mufflers are equipped with shields.
