Thermostat: Service and Repair






Coolant Thermostat

Removing

- Drain coolant => [ Cooling System, Draining and Filling ] Procedures.

All cable ties opened or cut during engine removal must be reinstalled at the same locations during installation.

The coolant must be completely drained, otherwise there is a risk that coolant may leak into the intake channels.

- Remove upper part of intake manifold => [ Intake Manifold Upper Section ] Cylinder Head, Valvetrain.

- Remove intake manifold lower part: => [ Intake Manifold Lower-Section ] Intake Manifold Lower-Section.

- Disconnect electrical harness connector - arrow -.





- Free up electrical wiring.

- Remove coolant hoses - 2 - and - 3 -.





- Remove bolt - 1 - and disconnect pipe connection at housing.

- Remove bolts - arrows - and remove thermostat housing.

Installing

Installation is in reverse order of removal, note the following:

Replace gaskets and O-rings.

Secure all hose connections using hose clamps appropriate for the model type.

During installation, all cable ties must be re-installed at the same location.

- Install intake manifold lower-part => [ Intake Manifold Lower-Section ] Intake Manifold Lower-Section.

- Install intake manifold upper-part: => [ Intake Manifold Upper Section ] Cylinder Head, Valvetrain.

- Fill with coolant => [ Filling ] Procedures.

Tightening Specifications
