Fuel Gauge: Testing and Inspection

Fuel gauge, checking

- remove luggage compartment cover




- remove cover for fuel gauge sending unit (arrows)




- connector from fuel gauge sending unit (arrow)




- connect VW 1301 to connector, outer terminals
- switch ignition ON
- set dial of VW 1301 to following numbers and check gauge reading
544 = empty
60 = full




- needle must be inside corresponding tolerance ranges (arrows
A = empty
B = full

Note: Keep VW 1301 connected at least 2 minutes to allow gauge needle to reach checking ranges
