Speaker Test/Replacement




Speaker Test/Replacement

Front Door Speaker

1. Remove the front door panel Front Door Panel Removal / Installation.

2. Remove the bolt (A). Then lift the speaker (B) straight up to release the lower clips (C).

NOTICE
If you pull the speaker out too far from the door, you will damage the lower clips.





3. Disconnect the 2P connector (D), and remove the speaker.

4. Measure the resistance between terminals No. 1 and No. 2:

- With navigation, there should be 2 Ohms.
- Without navigation, there should be 4 Ohms.

5. If the resistance is not as specified, replace the door speaker.

Front Center Speaker

1. With navigation, remove the navigation display unit Navigation Display Unit Removal/Installation. Without navigation, remove the audio-HVAC display unit Audio-HVAC Display Unit Removal/Installation.

2. Push out the speaker lid (A) from inside the dashboard, and disconnect the connectors.






3. Remove the screws and the front center speaker (A).





4. Measure the resistance between terminals No. 1 and No. 2. There should be about 2 Ohms.

5. If the resistance is not as specified, replace the front center speaker.

Tweeter

SRS components are located in this area. Review the SRS component locations Locations, and the precautions and procedures Service and Repair before doing repairs or service.

1. Remove the A-pillar trim Interior Trim Removal / Installation - Pillar Areas.

2. Release the hooks, and remove the tweeter (A).





3. Check the capacitor (B) condition. If any malfunction is found, replace the tweeter.

4. Measure the resistance between the tweeter (A) terminal No. 2 and the outside terminal of the capacitor. There should be about 6 Ohms.





5. If the resistance is not as specified, replace the tweeter.

Rear Speaker

1. Remove the rear shelf Service and Repair.

2. Remove the mounting bolt (A), then tilt the speaker (B) forward to release the clips (C).

NOTICE
If you pull the speaker out too far from the rear bulkhead, you will damage the clips.





3. Disconnect the 2P connector (D), and remove the rear speaker.

4. Measure the resistance between the terminals No. 1 and No. 2:

- With navigation, there should be 2 Ohms.
- Without navigation, there should be 4 Ohms.

5. If the resistance is not as specified, replace the rear speaker.

Rear Door Speaker (with ELS audio)

1. Remove the rear door panel Rear Door Panel Removal / Installation.

2. Remove the bolts (A), disconnect the 2P connector (B), and remove the speaker (C).





3. Measure the resistance between terminals No. 1 and No. 2. There should be about 2 Ohms.

4. If the resistance is not as specified, replace the rear door speaker.

Subwoofer

1. Remove the rear shelf Service and Repair.

2. Remove the four mounting bolts (A) from the subwoofer (B).





3. Disconnect the 2P connector (C), and remove the subwoofer.

4. Measure the resistance between the terminals No. 1 and No. 2. There should be about 2 Ohms.

5. If the resistance is not as specified, replace the subwoofer.
