Tire Pressure Monitor Receiver / Transponder: Service and Repair
TPMS Initiator Replacement
NOTE: Make sure the initiator mounting bracket is not bent or twisted as this may affect its communication with the TPMS control unit and the tire pressure sensor.
Front
1. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0), or press the engine start/stop button to select the OFF mode.
2. Raise the front of the vehicle, and support it with safety stands in the proper locations. Service and Repair
3. Remove the front wheel.
4. Remove the front inner fender. Front Inner Fender Replacement
5. Disconnect the initiator connector (A).
6. Remove the initiator (B) from the bracket.
7. Install the new initiator in the reverse order of removal.
Rear
1. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0), or press the engine start/stop button to select the OFF mode.
2. Raise the rear of the vehicle, and support it with safety stands in the proper locations. Service and Repair
3. Remove the rear wheel.
4. Remove the rear inner fender cover. Service and Repair
5. Disconnect the initiator connector (A).
6. Remove the initiator (B) from the inner side of the wheelwell.
7. Install the new initiator in the reverse order of removal.
