Support clips inflatable curtain (inflatable curtain module), replacing

Removing the inflatable curtain (IC module) support clips




Remove the cover with plug.

Hint: Use a TX10 Torx driver. Press the driver straight into the hole to release the catches on the plug.

Move the cover to one side.




Angle the support clip to one side.
Insert the weatherstrip tool between the support clip and the bodywork. See the illustration.
Unclip the clip from the body. The support clips will be deformed.

Note! Always replace removed support clips with new ones.

When replacing the new inflatable curtain (IC module):
The support clips are pre-mounted on the new inflatable curtain.

When replacing the support clips on the existing inflatable curtain (IC module):
Remove the inflatable curtain (IC-module) from the car. See IC (inflatable curtain) module, replacing IC (Inflatable Curtain) Module, Replacing.
Place the inflatable curtain on a level surface.
Check that the inflatable curtain is taped (white pieces of tape).
If these pieces of tape are missing, replace the inflatable curtain with a new one.





Note! Only replace one support clip at a time.




Remove the support clip from the inflatable curtain.

Installing the inflatable curtain (IC module) support clips




Install the new support clip on the inflatable curtain.

Note! Ensure that the support clip has clicked together.

Check that the hooks have locked.
Reinstall the inflatable curtain in the car. See IC (inflatable curtain) module, replacing IC (Inflatable Curtain) Module, Replacing.
