Checking the brake fluid level sensor

Checking the cable and parking brake switch




- Ignition off
- Check the function of the brake fluid level switch. Take readings between brake fluid level switch terminals #1 and #2.
In the event of low fluid level the voltage must be 0 V. In the event of full fluid level the voltage should be 12 V.
Check and remedy the wiring between driver information module (DIM) terminal #6 and brake fluid level switch terminal #1. Check for a short-circuit to ground. See Checking wiring and terminals. Permanent fault Checking Wiring And Terminals. Permanent Fault.

Other information:
- Connecting the breakout box Connecting The Breakout Box, Driver Information Module (DIM).

Were any faults found?

Yes - Verification

No - No Fault Found

Hint: After the repair it is necessary to check that the fault has been rectified.








- Ignition off.
- Connect the connectors, install the components, etc.
- Fill brake fluid to maximum level.
- Ignition on.
Brake fluid lamp should not be on.

Does fault still exist?

Yes - VERIFICATION FAILED

No - VERIFIED
