Antitheft and Alarm Systems: Service and Repair

INTRODUCTION
- Read through all of the instructions before starting installation.
- Notifications and warning texts are for your safety and to minimis the risk of something breaking during installation.
- Ensure that all tools stated in the instructions are available before starting installation.
- Certain steps in the instructions are only presented in the form of images. Explanatory text is also given for more complicated steps.
- In the event of any problems with the instructions or the accessory, contact your local Volvo dealer.







Alarm chassis number: 615814-





- Raise the car.
- Turn the front wheels to the left.
- Drill out the five pop rivets (1) holding the wing liner in place and the pop rivet (2) in the bottom edge of the bumper.
Use a - 6 mm (1/4") drill bit.

Remove:
- any rivet residue.
- the plastic nuts (3) holding the wing liner in place.
- the small protective plate.





- Carefully pry off the lower edge of the wheel arch extension. Use a plastic weatherstrip tool.
- Pull the wheel arch extension up to the highest point of the wheel housing. The three catches in the lower edge and the two clips a little higher up must release.
- Turn the wheels to the right.





- Fold down the front edge of the wing liner towards the brake calliper and secure it there.





- Locate and detach the pre-routed connector in the wheel housing.
- Connect the connector to the siren.





- Insert the siren's locating pins into the body holes.
- Tighten the siren with the screw. Torque tighten to 10 Nm (7.5 lbf.ft.).

Reinstall:




- the inner wing and wheel arch extension. Rivet them using pop rivets from the kit.
- the small protective plate and plastic nuts.





- Remove the air baffle to the air filter box by removing the screws and then pulling it off.





- Detach the left-hand headlamp by first pulling up the two locking pins and then carefully pulling the headlamp forwards.





- Carefully pry up the catch on the headlamp connector. Use a screwdriver.
- Pull the catch up completely, detach the connector and place the headlamp to one side.





- Remove the bonnet catch screws.





- Remove the nuts to the vacuum pump and lift it from its mounting.
- Fold it aside.





- Remove the screws to the lock arm and lift it out from the bonnet catch.





- Lift the bonnet catch forward and unhook the wire cable from the bonnet catch.

Note! Note the position of the catch wire!

- Take the new bonnet catch from the kit and install the wire in the same way as in the old catch.





- Install the bonnet catch with the lock arm in its position and screw in the screws loosely.

Reinstall:
- the screws to the lock arm and tighten to 24 Nm (18 lbf.ft.).
- the vacuum pump and tighten the nuts properly without damaging the rubber bushings.
- the air baffle and tighten its screws to 10 Nm (7.5 lbf.ft.).
- Close the bonnet and then tighten the bonnet catch screws to 10 Nm (7.5 lbf.ft.).
- Open the bonnet and reinstall the headlamp





- Install the decals on the front side windows.

Applies to Sweden and Norway
- Apply the type decal to the inside of the glove compartment
