Description Of Parameters
Description of parameters
Parameters, status
Note! The parameters that can be read off are determined by the systems with which the vehicle is equipped.
Brake pedal
The value indicates the status of the stop lamp switch. The engine control module (ECM) sends a signal on CAN about the position of the stop lamp switch: activated or not activated.
Active = Brake light switch actuated
Not active = Stop lamp switch not affected
Parking brake
The value indicates the position of the parking brake.
Active = Parking brake actuated
Not Active = Parking brake not applied
Trailer contact connected
The value indicates if the trailer is connected to the vehicle.
The differential electronic module (DEM) receives the value via CAN from the central electronic module (CEM) which itself has received the value from the trailer module (TRM).
Yes = Trailer connected.
No = Trailer not connected.
DEM status
The value indicates the status of the differential electronic module (DEM) (software related).
OK = AOC unit (coupling) is operating normally.
The coupling is fully open upon request = the AOC unit is fully open (request from the Brake Control Module (BCM))
The coupling is inactive or faulty (open) = AOC unit is open due to a fault in the system.
The Coupling is closed = AOC unit is closed due to a fault in the system.
The clutch is overheated = AOC unit is overheated.
The clutch is overheated (open) = the AOC unit is open due to overheating. No torque transferred to the rear axle.
The clutch completely locked on request = The AOC unit is completely locked (request from the brake control module (BCM)). Maximum torque transferred to the rear axle.
AOC status
The value specifies which status the AOC unit has (coupling). The Differential Electronic Module (DEM) obtains the signal from the Brake Control Module (BCM). The signal is used for deactivating the AOC unit during special driving conditions.
Normal operation = Request from the Brake Control Module (BCM) that the AOC unit (coupling) shall operate normally.
Rapid opening = Request from the Brake Control Module (BCM) that the AOC unit shall be opened quickly.
Slow opening = Request from the Brake Control Module (BCM) that the AOC unit shall be opened slowly.
Error in BCM = An error has occurred in the Brake Control Module (BCM) which means that the Differential Electronic Module (DEM) opens the AOC unit (coupling).
Completely locked = Request from the brake control module (BCM) that the AOC unit shall be locked completely (maximum torque supplied to the rear axle).
Torque limiting = Request from the brake control module (BCM) that the AOC unit shall limit the torque to the rear axle.
Parameters, value
Total Mileage (km)
The value shows the vehicle's total mileage and is the same information that is normally shown in the combination instrument. Information is stored in the Central electronic module (CEM) and is distributed to other control modules via the communication network that connects the Central electronic module (CEM) and the current control module, e.g. CAN.
Total mileage (miles)
The value shows the vehicle's total mileage, the same information as normal is shown in the combination instrument. Information is stored in the Central electronic module (CEM) and is distributed to other control modules via the communication network that connects the Central electronic module (CEM) and the current control module, e.g., CAN.
MECU power supply
The value indicates the voltage over the Central Electronic Module (CEM).
The control module transmits the signal on CAN and the differential electronic module (DEM) uses the signal to diagnose the power supply.
Measurement range: 0-63.75 V
Normal range: 12.0 - 14.5 V
Outside temperature (°C)
The value shows the external temperature. The information originally comes from a temperature sensor connected to the Engine control module (ECM) and is sent on to the Central electronic module (CEM) via CAN. Information is stored in the Central electronic module (CEM) and is distributed to other control modules via the communication network that connects the Central electronic module (CEM) and the current control module, e.g., CAN.
Power supply mode (status)
The status shows the vehicle's power supply mode. Central electronic module (CEM) collects information from relevant control modules and sensors, and generates the parameter. Information is stored in the Central electronic module (CEM) and is distributed to other control modules via the communication network that connects the Central electronic module (CEM) and the current control module, e.g., CAN.
The following status modes are available
- Key removed
- Key recently removed
- Key approved
- Ignition off after Accessory position
- Accessory position
- Accessory position after Ignition on

Power supply, Differential Electronic Module (DEM)
The value indicates the power supply to the Differential Electronic Module (DEM).
Measurement range: 0 - 25.5 V
Normal range: 12.0 - 14.5 V
Power supply, pump motor
The value indicates the supply through the electrically driven feed pump.
Measurement range 0 - 8191 mA.
Control module, temperature sensor 1
The value shows the temperature in Differential electronic module (DEM). The temperature sensor is located on the circuit board.
Control module, temperature sensor 2
The value shows the temperature in Differential electronic module (DEM). The temperature sensor is located on the circuit board.
Wheel speed
The value indicates wheel speed.
