Front Steering Knuckle: Service and Repair






Wheel knuckle front






Removal

Note! Removal steps in this procedure may contain installation details.

Warning! Do not use magnets or magnetic tools close to tooth wheels, drive shafts or wheel hubs. A magnetized tooth wheel will lose its function and generate incorrect signals resulting in fault codes.

Note! Any magnetized tooth wheel, drive shaft or wheel hub must be replaced with a new component.

Remove the front brake disc Refer to: Front brake disc, B6304T4, TF-80SC AWD, B6324S5, TF-80SC AWD, B6324S5, TF-80SC, B6324S4, TF-80SC AWD, B6324S4, TF-80SC Brake Disc Front, Replacing




Torque: M6, 10 Nm




Torque: M6, 10 Nm




Torque: M5, 5 Nm




Torque: Driveshaft to wheel hub (front) Stage 1: 35 Nm Stage 2: 90 degree





Warning! Make sure that a new nut is installed.

Caution! Make sure that the ball joint ball does not rotate.

Torque: Tie rod end to wheel knuckle, 80 Nm




Torque: Wheel knuckle to strut and spring assembly, 110 Nm

Installation

To install, reverse the removal procedure.
